Okay, I just received my Dell 600m today, and when I unplug the ethernet cable from my desktop(which I'm on at the moment) and plug it into the laptop, the laptop always has no connectivity because it can't retrieve a IP Address. What are some solutions to my problem?

    Thank You.

do u have some sort of security on your router enabled?

how long are you waiting to get the address?

open the command prompt and type ipconfig/renew

I don't think I have security enabled on my router, but I'll try that ipconfig /renew
