    Internet port not detected

    does anyone know where i can download the driver needed so my internet port works on my dell inspiron 1000. i recently wiped the whole computer and started new but this problem seems to keep coming up ie: speakers wouldn't play until i downloaded the driver for them. thats what im looking for i just don't know where it would be. Thanks for the help!

    Check out the dell support site... I think they have all the necessary drivers...

    That's the drivers and downloads page for the Inspiron 1000, and that's where I got the audio driver I linked to you earlier. That will include the ethernet driver. This should be the particular one you're looking for:

    For the record, if you ever need to get back to the downloads page, just to support.dell.com and click the "Drivers and Downloads" button, then either enter your Service Tag, or select your model: Laptops > Inspiron laptops > 1000. ;)

    I installed the driver and everything went well. I then installed the Linksys wireless-g notebook adapter software from the cd with no problems but when i put the Linksys wireless-g notebook adapter card into the slot, it says that it had trouble installing and the device might not work properly...and it doesnt work at all.
