Hey just wanted to say hi to everyone here who cares, so hi.

My name is kris and i am really excited about my new laptop, as its the first computer i have purchased to MY specs, plus i got a deal =) Im looking forward to playing some games since the last computer gaming i was able to really get into was Day Of Defeat, Beta 2 i think, the really old free one. I loved that game.

My estimated ship date is 9/4(order status 'in production'), which im hoping will be sooner(any chance?)

Here are the specs on my new dell 1520.
    Intel Core 2 Duo T7500, 2.2GHz, 800Mhz, 4M L2 Cache
2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 at 667MHz(should i take one out and put in a 2gb for 3gb total?)
High Resolution, glossy widescreen 15.4 inch display (1440x900)
    256MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600M GT(my first non-integrated gfx card)
85Whr Lithium Ion Battery (9 cell)
    Jet Black color w/o Camera
80GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM) (will the slower speed choke me up?)

Thats really all that is relevant, what do you think? Im happy as it will blow what im typing on out of the atmosphere(winME 455mhz toshiba)

The only thing i really hate is that i loose my track stick thing(little eraser mouse), i don't like the touch pad much. =(

Thanks for the future help guys! You won't hear too much from me, im more of a reader/searcher.

Hmm yeah only the HDD seems to be slightly underfed.... Why not go for a 120 GB or a 160 GB one ?

well i have an external hard drive, and i don't travel much with my current laptop, so the 80 gb hard drive will be fine for me(im running on like 10 on this laptop haha). All my media and "clutter" goes on my external hard drive. So im confident the 80gb will be a good size.

My total was $1154 i think, after tax and shipping(which was free). I found the 325$ coupon online for some notebooks valued at over 1299, so i built mine up to what the other computer prices i was looking at were(actually less), and i got all i wanted!

Yeah i have been looking around for delivery times etc. unfortunently i agree it may take a little more time than they say. Keeping my fingers crossed!!
