I have just ordered a Dell XPS M1210 with 1 GB 533 MHz Ram (windows vista home premium pre-installed). Will it be suffice for error / crash free vista experience ??

1 gig will do pretty well, more is always better. You can run mismatched pairs on your machine, so you can get one 1gb stick and have 1.5gb in dual channel, then replace the other one at a later time. I've experimented with only 1 gb on my desktop, the difference between 1 and 2gb is pretty dramatic. 1gb wont crash your computer, it will just be a little sluggish at times when it needs to hit the HD for virtual mem.

Thnks Iceman,
Will surley upgrade the ram in few mnths , but till then i wud have to stick with the 1 gig -
My brother has the same specs and it runs pretty smooth with vista -
you could always use "readyboost" with a fast sd card (133-150x) or similar, windows will use that as memory and i here it speeds things up quite abit.
-
readybooost will mainly help with booting up the computer as well as moving between apps, and closing and opening apps

Yes they will, if you mix 533 and 667, both sticks will run at 533. -
Well 1gb will work but it will be slower when you are multitasking I just upgraded to 2gb because even home basic invaded my memory and it still dose it now uses slightly more.
