I am going to buy my Dell 1520 tomorrow and was wondering if I will gain anything with 2.2 Ghz? 100 bucks extra is pretty steep for only a .2 more. Also did dell fix the 1440*900 graininess issues because I am going to pretty pissed if I get a screen that looks like crap after paying 1700 bucks for it. Anyway thanks. Its going to be used to play WoW and some FPS games, outside rarely mostly in doors.

i don't think the 2.2 is worth the price jump, the graphic card will be the bottle neck well before the 2.0 proc for games.

Most of this graininess talk are just people with the computer equivalence of a hypochondriac. You will only see graininess if you expect to see graininess.

WoW is not a demanding game, my brother plays it on a dell dimension 3000, with 512mb of ram, a pentium 4 2.8ghz processor, and integrated graphics. The game only lags when going into the largest cities.

Yes i also dont think its necessary getting a T7500. I would first consider upgrading the memory or hdd or accessories or maybe a better warranty( depending on your lifestyle/uses for the laptop) before upgrading the CPU.

Also what other tasks beside gaming do you plan to do with this notebook and post your specification/configuration of the notebook.

the only thing different is about $1200, 1 GB of RAM a couple thousand RPM's faster HD and maybe the warranty.. i personally dont think those things are worth the $1200's lol. what did u do differently? Coupon?

7600RPM drive? damn! that explains why you spent so much! =p but honestly $2500? i'm pretty sure you can get a fully loaded one for >$2000 through coupons, the various discounts, and talking to the CSRs.

well unless you end up getting a T7700 and a SDD drive -_-

thats a lot of people's questions. i put it in my sig. details wouldnt fit in the 350 character limit
edit: and $2500 is expensive for that. the only thing you're getting is an extra 9-cell. my retail value was less than what you're being quoted. are you in canada? are those CAD?

First off, pragun: now THAT'S a deal!! Rep just for that, great work. And I thought I had a good one...

To the OP: no, it is not worth the extra $100 to upgrade .2GHz. Barely noticeable difference, IMHO. For games, the most important thing is the video card, and then the RAM (2GB is sufficient); processor is a clear 3rd.

the coupon they offered last week when properly configured for the 1500 was smokin.. basically use the base config and max the thing out the more you added the more you saved.. then i called in the order and gave him my code.. he said wow.. and then got greedy and said i also want this and this ... but i cant spend more than XXX amount.. he put me on hold and said i cant take any more off but i can add the bluetooth and webcam at no charge for you... then i called and complained about the long wait and called back again then again... then was issued a 50$ extra credit and upgraded to overnight shipping as well.. are you doing the 15xx or 17xx series??

i was told they will have another great coupon coming by a rep i spoke with in my area today he said he cant tell me about it but to keep my eyes open basically to try to make up for the long delays and back to school time.. he said maybe a 30% off or something along those lines.. i know im safe and still have lots of time to cancel/ send back lol

@HappyFunBall: lol thanks. also i second that the 2.2 is not worth it over the 2.0. and to others: before you call me a hypocrite lol i needed something to raise my price enough to get the 12% epp discount over the 8%, which is why I went for the t7500 instead of the t7300.

@zfactor: in your sig you might want to change d2c to c2d. and getting 1137 without the warranty is impressive still..hm...mine came to $1435 with the warranty (without the credits) and i thought THAT was an awesome deal lol.
