Is CompleteCare worth it for resale purposes? My XPS M1330 is 6 months old and though I will not keep it for close to 3 years I’m thinking of adding CompleteCare if it would increase the resale value over the standard 3 year warranty. I figure if I keep it for 1-1.5 years and it has 1.5-2 years of CompleteCare warranty left it’s worth the $119 to add it, not to mention that I would be covered meanwhile. Just to be sure, CompleteCare is transferable isn’t it?

Yes, it is transferable, and it adds a really good value, its more like an extra, you get what you don't get with the common warranty. When you sell the computer make sure to transfer the ownership of the computer to the new owner that way he/she wont have any problems contacting support, usually they don't have problems when the ownership is not transferred but they will have to do that anyways...

    It is transferable: http://support.dell.com/support/top...nfo/en/warranty_store_sign_in?c=us&l=en&s=dhs

If you didn't order it initially, I am pretty sure you cannot get it outside of the 21 day return period.

If you can, you should be able to order it here: http://support.dell.com/support/top...nfo/en/warranty_store_sign_in?c=us&l=en&s=dhs

As far as if it is worth it? I wouldn't buy a laptop without it, especially for my primary system. It takes quite a beating. I have had to use it once and was well worth the $119.

For me, a 3 year CompleteCare was thrown in, I couldn't refuse. I don't know how it'll help me though.

You can always order complete care even if you are outside of the 21 return period, I am out of the return period and I am able to choose complete care up to 5 years

I have CompleteCare with my 1530, and I am glad that I have it! Being my first lappy, I wanted to make sure I was covered in every aspect! ;) :D

So, yes..get it when you can add it....For that price it is worth it's value..for the long term you will have it, or what not ;) :)
