I've just arrived US and only have a visa debit card issued by US local bank now. Is that acceptable for online purchase? Anyone actually paid by debit card?
Thank you guys.

I wouldn't recommend using a debit card. Usually there's no fraud protection. Use a credit card instead. You have much more protection, and you don't have to worry about someone draining your checking/savings account.
This seems like an odd question for the Dell forum. Any particular reason why you're asking here instead of a banking site? -
Erm yeah, debit cards are okay. check with your bank as far as fraud protection. Most offer protection now adays.
Make sure you have up to date virus scanners and spyware detectors before doing any purchases online. -
If it a mastercard/visa debit then you have fraud protection. at least that is what my bank told me.

either that or he's managed to get lost and is confused lol -
I was trying to add my master debit card to my paypal, but didn't success.
it said "your card was denied by your card issuer...."
I was not able to use this card to purchase an e1501 from Dell as well. It said "we can not obtain authorization..."
But i used my aunt's credit card, and it was fine.
Hope it will help you. -
You generally can use any debit card that is mastercard or visa. Dell sees it as a credit card and not debit card. You can also pay via checking account, but i wouldn't recommend it.
As for paypal problem, you might make sure that all of our information is exactly the same as with your bank. I've never heard of paypal not accepting a MC but I could be wrong. -
thank you all!
Is Debit Card OK?
