I am in Hong Kong for summer vacation and I noticed the price of Dell laptops here are much cheaper here than in Canada (where I live). I can get the identical configuration in HK for about $500 CAD cheaper than in Canada. If I were to order one in HK, would I be able to contact Dell Canada for the warranty if any problems occur? Thanks in advance.

At least for India, for notebooks purchased somewhere else, only the three year warranty from Dell is considered international

Last time i asked, yes it's international but you have to transfer the warranty to the country you're in. Not sure what difference it makes but ie if you're going back to canada, you have to inform dell hk and tell them to transfer your warranty to dell canada. This is what I was told by dell some time back. It's better to ask them. Good luck

In the US, only a 3 year next day on site warranty will get your international coverage. I suggest you ask Dell HK.

Thanks for the replies. I'll check it out, hopefully the Dell outlets will have the new lineups on display this weekend.

Call DELL HK and ask about the warranty policies. Also ask them about the delivery dates (if you are not going to stay there for long). Here in Japan also only 3 or 4 year next business day carries international warranty.

I called DELL US and asked the same question; if you buy in the US, only the 3 year warranty gives you international coverage.
In case you're interested, I was offered the following with a three year warranty for $1850:
C2D 7300
120GB Hard Drive
2GB Ram
LED Screen
Is Dell's warranty international?
