Hey guys, I’m going on vacation and unfortunately its going to be a 14 hour flight :( . I was looking for an extra battery for my i6000 at Dell and found out that their so fricking expensive on Dell.com. So I looked checked them out on Ebay and it seems that they are A LOT cheaper and I’m afraid that the sellers might try to sell used batteries with lousy battery life. So do you guys think its safe to buy a battery from ebay or just stick with dell.com
Keep in mind there is roughly a 70 USD price difference

Lots of new 6000 batteries on ebay. I wouldn't buy used and not from a third party maker. As always, buying from someone who has lots of positive feedback and has sold similar items are a good idea. Also read the fine print.

    here's some tips:

    * make sure you read the description VERY carefully.
    * look for keywords such as oem, original, authentic (you do want an original batteries don't you?)
    * don't EVER buy used batteries on eBay. even if the seller says its hardly been used or used for a couple days only! if you buy a used battery and its near the end if its 300-500 recharge cycles, you can't hold the seller responsible since he did mention it was used
    * pay only via paypal, that way you can do a chargeback if the item is misrepresented (buyer protection)
    * this is probably obvious but check the sellers ratings and see if he sold batteries in the past and what other buyers say
    * do a search of completed listings for similar batteries, this will give you a general idea how much the auction will close at, and its a good reference for placing your maximum bid
    * check the sellers return policy, never buy "no returns, as-is" products. if necassary, email the seller and ask about this BEFORE you place a bid, that way you have the return policy in writing

In short, yes, its safe to buy batteries on ebay as long as you're a careful buyer!

Which seller did you buy it from? let me know how it turns out. I remember seeing a guy on ebay recently selling, and he had like 34 of them available.

    The item number is: 6786983737
It's a dutch auction and ended at only $55! Overnight shipping was $18 & insurance $4. Total: $77 for a brand new original Dell Inspiron 700m 8 cell battery. You can't beat this deal anywhere in the net!

The battery is in my hands now.. but they shipped faster than my computer did. So I'm still waiting to test it.
