Is It Possible...Boxing Stage Already??

Hey,

I wanted to know how accurate the phone number automated system is. I ordered my laptop mid-afternoon yesterday and it was in production before the end of the hour. I just called this morning and it says its in the Boxing Stage.

Can that be possible? How long does the boxing stage take?

It's possible I guess. It depends on what your configuration was.

 

I wouldn't trust the phone update. Yesterday it told me my order was shipped, and today I find out I am delayed to August 28 for shipping....

Mine was in boxing within 15 hours, so yes its very possible.

 

I got the same thing as you, except I went with the WSXGA+ screen instead. Yay

I ordered mine on on 7/31 and I am in the boxing stage also. Must be possible.

 

I guess things are starting to pick up at the Dell production facility. Either that or there is something wrong with their phone system.

I ordered the Vostro 1400 (smart value package for $699) on 8/01 and its in boxing stage on 8/03 ..
Also, my Vostro 1500 was to be shipped on 8/10, but instead it shipped on 8/03

Damn, you're lucky. The actually assembaly and boxing and all that for my laptop took a few days. the build stage is so darn vauge.

 

its not really a build stage. it's a...we're collecting parts before we build, then we'll build...except we'll tell you that this whole time we've been building-kind of stage.

 

What I don't understand is if the definition of a kitting stage is when they put all of the required parts together in a kit for a team to assemble, then why is everyone getting stuck in build stage? I am sure that this is not the case, but that makes it seem like an assembly team just puts the unfinished computer aside until the parts come in.

 

I get frustrated when I see others who ordered 2 days ago already in boxing.

 

I think it all has to do with the colored lids. Thats why I got black, and ALL the upgrades, I figured they would have those parts in stock.

UPDATE: 1400 shipped on 8/04 .. it took only 3 days to build it from scratch i better thoroughly inspect it when it arrives, to make sure they didn't just send me a refurbished one (quite unlikely, but still)

Well i just called and found out i'm in the boxing stage...starting today....hopefully it won't be that long!! for the first time since i bought it i'm actually excited for my computer...it better be worth the wait!!!
