    I need a laptop urgently. Dell Studio 15 with i5-460M, HD545v is the one I'm planning to buy as it comes within my budget & required OS config.

    You mentioned b/w DELL and SONY.
    I guess DELL config is nice and may be cheap than SONY. For trouble free for 3-4 you can cover it with DELL coverage options. Also you can do nice enough gaming on DELL.

    Both Dell and Sony are relatively reliable. With Lenovo, Samsung and Toshiba, they usually come pretty high in reliability comparisons.

    Absolutely not. I am having nothing but problems from the one I just received. I highly recommend you do not purchase in the Studio line.
