Just powered mine up for the first time today. I love it. The Dell Wireless card picked up the signal on our Dllink DIR-655 router and the connection is faster than the one on the computer wired into the router.

fan might be the weakest link in a laptop, so it's better to keep it not busy.

Until you try it don't get smart, Vostros are newer than some of these, and how different do you think they really are? One of them seems to work on 3 different lines Of Dells and is before Vostro so give it a shot. If you go thru life following all directions no way to live. Also capital P does not work as well as lower case p, it is case sensitive, :p or :p see? :)

I don't have a Vostro 1500 so no way I could recommend. I do have a Inspiron 7500 and I have one forgot the name have not used for 1 year. Also I used a program called "Rain" to keep the CPU cool, I also used hacked video drivers. You Dell guy's have so much stuff out there to play with, go start having fun!

For a non-invasive solution, I would recommend a set of these:

I've been using a set of snapballs on mine for the last 6 months or so. I definitely notice the fan coming on less.
