I planned on buying the Vostro 1500 today with a WXGA (1280 x 800) screen. I want to get truelife but have read about about grainyness problems. Is that here in the Uk or in the US?

If it is a problem in Uk too, are you allowed to choose what screen manufacturer you want?

    Thank you.

Yes its seems to be a screen manufacture who ****ing it up and Dell use them for everywhere because it would be cheaper, whats you need to worry about is UK gets **** on by everyone so all the fault screens will be on the way to us because us good ole Brits will enver moan.

For what it's worth, I just got my Vostro 1500 with a 1280 x 800 AUO screen, and it is perfectly fine. I couldn't imagine a better screen than the one I got.

I have Vostro 1500 wxga glossy. Bought week ago in UK and screen is grainy. And my screen is LPL (LG/Philips). Just don’t believe people who talking rubbish that screen is not grainy. They should go to Specsavers.

There have been numerous pictures posted which prove that there are non-grainy screens.

There have been numerous pictures posted which prove Elvis is still alive and UFO's are flying above us. Do we believe them?

I’m just bored by the grainy screen issue because there are 4 different screen types and 4 different manufactures and it looks like lottery to get clear screen. Maybe there is something wrong with the system itself not screen. Four manufactures can’t do crap screens only for Dell.

That, to be fair, is a very good point

My vostro should be here tomorrow hopefully. I will be very disappointed if the screen is grainy. If it is it is going straight back to Dell. As I will be watching a lot of movies on it, it is vital that the screen is top notch.
