I was wondering for those of you whom have had more experience with Dell then I have, is if there customer service is always this bad in terms of the 9100 and XPS? Last computer I ordered from them is my desktop, the Dimension 4100 back when it first came out and that order got delayed too! what should I expect if my laptop breaks? Are they gonna give me the loop around and not tell me the truth and make we wait a year to fix it?
On the way I hope!!! Dell Inspiron 9100
P4 3.0, 15.4 UXGA Wide Screen, 512 DDR SDRAM 400MHz, 128MB ATI Mobility Radeon 9700, 60 GB Ultra ATA HD, 24x CD-RW/DVD, TrueMobile1400 WLAN!

In my experience with Dell Laptops, customer service is very hit or miss...some days it's great, other days it's horrible.
I have found that talking to tech support is also hit or miss with them...some will do an outstanding job of helping you out, others will be completely clueless and simply anger you.
You just gotta hope you can talk to someone who is nice and knowledgeable -
So, v-balla6, you ordered your Inspiron 9100 laptop in March of 2004? Have you received it yet?

Ugh I can't neg rep you for bumping a 3 yr old thread
-
I was just checking - maybe our little 6 week delays are really nothing compared to this guy's wait.
Anyway, it seems that "some things never change" -
Why bump a thread that's 70 years old
-

hahahaha i get it now!
seeing as his last post was in 2004, he must still be without a computer in three years... hurry up dell!!!!! -

Great post! Don't understand the negativity. We've got to have something to do while we wait (perhaps I should be working...lol).

Because it feels like it might be another 70 years until we get our laptops. -
Hey, at least you're getting yours.
I'm wondering what award they're talking about when they say "award-winning customer service" on those damn commercials.
I ordered a refurb because (in that particular case), it was a great deal for all I got. Flash forward one week, and I find out that they cancelled the order, because they claim I didn't authorize the charges (which I did).
So basically they put the machine back out and sold it, and I'm SOL. Calling and chatting with customer service did nothing, because all they did was bounce me around to different "representatives" (read: call centers in other countries) or departments for an hour. When all was said and done, they said they couldn't give me a replacement coupon since I didn't actually buy anything from them.
Are there any manufacturers that DON'T have sucky customer service?
Is dell's customer service always bad?
