Are the 4 core intel processors supported by this laptop? if so, which ones?
-
No, it definitely is not supported. I'm not aware of any laptops that (officially) will support quad core as of yet. That's still not till later this year.
-
Nope
Only Intel Core and Intel Core 2, Mobile Single and Dual Core Processors -
^Are all the models for those processors supported by this laptop? If not, which are supported?
-
You'll have to checkup the BIOS release notes or call up Dell.
Intel Core Solo and Core Duo should be supported.
If the BIOS has the codes/compatibility for the Core 2 Solo and Core 2 Duo, then they should be supported as well.
Check out this CPU compatibility Guide. (Look for Socket M CPUs) -
I believe that the i945, even on the desktop boards, has no support for Quads.
-J.B. -
But then again, I don't believe a 965 based laptop would support quadcore, though the desktop does.
-
Yep, talin is right. Only the new montevina chipset is assumed to be supporting mobile quad cores, with which socket ? Dunno....
Is intel quad cpu supported by my laptop?
