    No, it definitely is not supported. I'm not aware of any laptops that (officially) will support quad core as of yet. That's still not till later this year.

    Only Intel Core and Intel Core 2, Mobile Single and Dual Core Processors

    You'll have to checkup the BIOS release notes or call up Dell.
    Intel Core Solo and Core Duo should be supported.
    If the BIOS has the codes/compatibility for the Core 2 Solo and Core 2 Duo, then they should be supported as well.

    I believe that the i945, even on the desktop boards, has no support for Quads.

    They're basically the same chipset. :p But then again, I don't believe a 965 based laptop would support quadcore, though the desktop does. :)

    Yep, talin is right. Only the new montevina chipset is assumed to be supporting mobile quad cores, with which socket ? Dunno....
