I just have a quick question to those who have experience with Dell pricing, I was considering this configuration below on whether or not it is a good deal. The total of the configuration below would come to 3,703-500-384.36 = $2818.64 total after discounts. I am a student so I do qualify for the additional discount. If anyone could add their 2 cents I would appreciate it.

    Sweet!

Lots of firepower, and the 4yr warranty!

At any rate if you are into games, look no further! lol

If you are not -- maybe check out the I9300 -- it's gonna be $500 cheaper for the same specs minus the Go6800 Ultra.

    cheers,

    yass

P.S. erm I meant if you are not THAT into fps games... lol The regular Go6800 is no sloth even with GDDR1 RAM - in fact it's faster than anything else out there cept for the x800 and the Go6800 w/ GDDR3 RAM... and obviously the Ultra.

Doesn't the Inspiron 9300 come with a Go 6800 with GDDR3 ram? That's what I see on the nvidia page, it's either the ultra or the standard but both come with GDDR3 RAM. The Ultra just has a faster clock rate.

There is a huge difference in the two cards. The Geforce in the 9300 is actually DDR1 Ram, I believe. In either case, you will get about 30 fps MORE with the XPS 2 than with the 9300.

It's a huge difference. If you are a premier gamer, look no further than the XPS 2.

From some computer enthusiast sites, I saw that earlier Geforce 6800 came with GDDR 1 RAM and that this site said that later ones will come with GDDR3. The GDDR3 RAM is not only limited to the Ultra version as I read, it is also available for the standard version. But whether Dell decides to use the GDDR3 version is another matter.
