Let me preface this by saying that I completely understand that a major reason this place exists is for people to air grievances or look for solutions. Believe me, I just busted hard on Netgear, so I'm not saying otherwise.

But is anyone else a little tired of the complaints? I mean, I keep reading threads on how people are literally scared to purchase a laptop because all they read is how crappy Dells are. And not their low-end computers, but their XPS line. That's too bad because you guys are missing out. I got my XPS M1530, first laptop I've owned and it's freakin' sweet. If I read the reviews here, I imagine I would have gotten a laptop that was falling apart with a broken screen, perhaps a screwdriver stabbed through it, grainy when working, burnt out pixels, hard drive sounds like a chainsaw, so hot it's actually melting nearby cinderblocks, it can barely run Tetris let alone FPS games, and did I mention that it was shipped to a stranger three blocks away?

Let me reiterate, my XPS was basically perfect. If there's anything wrong with it, it's probably because of me, since I wiped it clean and am now gathering drivers to reinstall. (How do I tell if I missed one, by the way? Uh oh.) The screen is great, a little bleeding at the bottom, but fine. No pixels out. Crisp and clean. The chassis is great, doesn't get hot, the fan is a tad loud but reasonable. The hard drive is fine. I don't know what kind of expectations you guys have about laptops, maybe it's just because my desktop is like five years old and I'm psyched to have a shiny new computer. I'm not saying Dell is perfect, I'm just saying: think how many computers are purchased from them and how many people have problems with them. It's like 1%. So don't worry. Get the thing, you can return it later (and then attempt to rip off Dell shamelessly by lying about what's wrong, apparently  ).

P.S. Anyone else not care about that new Macbook Air? How much do you want to bet that people buy it and then wet their pants over how it breaks in half every time they sneeze? LOLZ, OWNED!

People simply state the issues they have. My laptop was lost in shipment, but does that mean I'm not doing to buy a dell laptop? No it doesn't. Others may have similar issues and may not know what to do, but when others post about it, the community often comes up with solution.

Macbooks are ok, but not top tier items though,

The forum here at notebookreview.com is a place where people come to discuss about laptops both their joys and their frustrations. Memebers are free to discuss what they wants wether its complaints or compliments for the notebooks they have. So long as they aren't going around screaming DELL SUCKS DON'T BUY DELL and things like that. I don't see anything productive discussions coming from this thread so it is closed. -Niki
