Is it possible to use the tvtuner in the xps1530 like a tivo?

So I'm heading off for college next year and am plannin on getting that laptop, or whatever the equivalent is in their line this august. I'm wondering if I get the tvtuner option, will I be able to set it up to auto record various shows if new episodes are on, like a tivo can do or if to record something it has to manually set it up right before the show starts. If the former is possible it would significantly lower the amount of pirating I do and be an actual legal alternative, and the bandwidth I use, which would be a good thing in college.

probaby but you will need an external tv tuner as the xps has no internal slot

prism, most likely yes. It should work with windows media center. Not sure where you get guide information from though. Also dont expect it to record shows based on new episodes. Theres no guarentee descriptions are filles out correctly, so even if it did base recordings on descriptions, you will either get repeats or miss recordings from time to time.
