I am running a 1737 with A04 BIOS. As far as I can tell everything us running great.
I recently saw that theres a new A06 BIOS. Is it worth it to update? And are there any risks?
improved battery life etc.

Update it. They release those things for a reason. Odds are it will just be a few behind the scenes tweaks.
As long as you have your battery and AC power source plugged in, there's no risk. -
There are always risks with updating the BIOS. I mean, it can completely change the way your motherboard works (well not completely). However, updates tend to be tested pretty well before they are released. I've never had a problem with a BIOS update from Dell, and no it doesn't matter if you are skipping a revision, or even 12 revisions (or more).
I agree with Mastershroom. Update it and try to keep it updated. It's not a necessity, but it could make a difference to how well your notebook runs. -
So I need to Have the battery and ac adapter plugged in.?
well I guess I better update, to make sure all works well with Windows 7 I just bought for $50

I think it`s best not to be the first people to flash a new bios, leave it a week or two to see if any problems arise.
I just hate how some manufactures say it`s your problem if the bios flash fails and you have to pay for a repair.
I still get very nervous when i flash a bios and i have done it 50+ times , with only 1 fail and that was a saved bios, not an original. -
Download cpu-z and look under the mainboard tab

Why does it matter what Mobo version you have, its telling me to download A06.
not depending on which motherboard you have. That I should do something else.
And should I unplug all USB gadgets first??? -
USB gadgets like mice and flash drives? It shouldn't make a difference.
And there's no reason to figure out exactly what motherboard model you have; every individual computer of a particular model uses the exact same motherboard and BIOS.
Is it risky to update my BIOS from A04 to A06 and what are the fixes
