I have a 3 year old Dell E1505. I havent used it in year because it had constant hard drive failures (blue screen of death).

If I clean out the harddrive, will I be able to sell it anywhere for salvage (Any money I can get from it is good). If so, where would be a good place to sell it?

    Thank you!

Craigslist or ebay would be a prime place to sell it. Post its specs so I can list you the approximate selling price

The buy/sell/trade forum here on notebookreview is an option.

Edit: Sorry, I forgot... it's now called the "NBR Marketplace" forum.

everything is worth something for the wanting eye, imagine a guy who just dropped his, but doesn't have the money to buy a working one? they buy a failing one to salvage parts and make a new one ( like i did with my blackberry lol )

so yeah it could be worth *something* :D or it could be easily repaired and used for office work...

Someone will buy it. I sold a 5 year old compaq, with the original Pentium M processor, and a junk 64mb video card for over 100 on ebay. I was so close to just chucking it.

I sold my 3 year old Inspiron 6400 (same as E1505; in sig)) for $400. Of course, it still works.

I just put that money towards the XT2 (also in sig).

    Not a chance!

Considering you can pick up a decent spec new notebook for £300-400 now - even lower if you shop around - theres no way you'll get a few hundred for a 3 year old system!

Sell it as scrap/spares etc, and you may scrimp £100 together.

I got $400 USD out of mine.

There will be someone looking for it, you just have to find the right buyer. Of course, I sold mine to a friend, who OFFERED $400. I didn't turn it down, naturally.
