    The one thing that I was really curious about before buying my Laptop (which I did tonight) was how much better would it be than my 3 yr old PC. Everyone here seems to have a decent idea on teh Vostro, i built mine with the 2.0 ghz 4mb cache, 8600m GT, and it will have 2gb of DDR 2. Right now i am just going off my Vista System score, which is 4.1 scores are;

    CPU - 4.1
    RAM - 4.7
    Grahics - 5.6
    Gaming Graphichs - 4.5
    HD - 5.2

    Specs are roughly
    AMD 64 3500+ (single core)
    2 GB DDR ram
    9800 Pro AGP 128Mb (running at 4x i believe)

    As you can see, its not a terrible machine, but its past its hayday lol.
    Right now, games like Supreme commander have to play at low settings, and gets angry when lots of stuff is on the screen, so basicly, newer games arn't to great.

    I saw the chinese girls Scores, and her Gaming Graphics were around mine, at about 4.1 i belive, she had the 1.6 CPU with teh 8400 i believe. Which makes me wonder, if the 8600 with the bigger CPU will give me much better scores than my current PC.
    What do you guys think the 8600 will be getting in Vista for its score? Is my 3 yr old PC still going to beat out this new Laptop? Are new games going to be like gaming on my old PC? :confused:

    The 8600M may be trailing the 7950, but it can sure kick the **** out of a 4x AGP 128MB card. I have no doubt you'll be able to play games better on the laptop.
    Incidentally, I have a 3500+ in my desktop overclocked to 2.7Ghz, and a T7300 could probably beat it. lol

    The laptop will be better in every way except the video card most likely.

    The 8400M GS should be on par with the Go 6600 or a bit above, which puts it quite a ways below the 6600GT, which is comparable to the 9800 Pro.
