looks like killer back light bleed
-
Wow that's brutal. Why didn't you spring for the LED backlight?
-
-
YIKES. Just put a band aid on it and it'll go away.
-
Its too much backlight bleed. SHould get a replacement if you are under 21 days.
-
looks to be a Samsung Display. Id definitely contact Dell and have them check it out or have them replace the screen

When is the Tech coming out, soon? Usually their response time is pretty good
-
-
The tech. also came in the evening, which worked out great for me (no time loss from work). What I liked was that he worked around my schedule, and when he arrived he took great care with my 1530. He was also done w/in an hour..so it worked out just fine!
I hope it works out for you. Please be sure to keep us all posted!
-
. Hope they don't **** me off with another flaw screen. Else i will persist to change again and again until it is good..
-
And, just stay *positive* that all will work out for yah!
LOL, I'm sure it will.
I let the Technician do his own thing while he was working on my 1530, I gave him enough light and a good *work space* to do what he needed to do.
I was also sure to stay within a close range, so I could keep an eye on what he was doing.
And, if you do happen to get another bad screen, I would insist on the whole laptop being replaced.
Again..good luck and *fingers crossed* for you. -
im sick with dell service now... they mention tuesday will turn up to replace my LCD but it didnt until today(wednesday) i call up to ask wat happen where i dont even receive any call from the tech itself. After they check and they told me that the tech call up the person and that particular person said he didnt order for such service(that is NOT me!!). He also mention that the tech even turn up infront of the house according to the address(WTF IS THIS?). So the particular LCD sent back to stockhouse already and now i need to make another appointment which is on friday.
I predict that the one the tech called is the retailer owner coz this lappy is registered under his name b4, BUT i already updated dell customer service about my particular ON THE VERY FIRST DAY I BOUGHT THIS and told them owner has been change so they can DELETE old particular details and update and the tech say yes yes yes successfully updated.... HOW THEY CAN MAKE SUCH A MISTAKE NOW?? This shows that they didnt fully deleted and update that particular time. and i've been calling up about 5times within 1 week to ask many thgs regarding the laptop and EVERYTIME i called they will ask for verification which is my name, my ADDRESS!!!(when LCD replacement report is placed) and my CONTACT NUMBER!!! and everytime it succeed on the verification.
HOW in the world can that happen??? All i can think of is they have different databases for customer details. So i ask them "did u all only have one single customer database or have multiple databases which is not synchronized" and the tech answer me "we are sharing 1 customer database all over dell" OMG.. thats even weirder... and impossible for this to happen... im pissed off now. They just waste the hell of my time on Tuesday waiting them to come over, waste my fully refund warranty period which if they delay until over the dateline then i cant "no-question fully refund " already if anythg goes bad again. Is there a way seek for compensation? -
Glad my screen doesn't do that, guess you got a rushed one

Your back lighting is horribly uneven . . . although I also have a Samsung screen. I can say that mine looks good, though there is more of a 'wash' with it than before. Does it really ruin the viewing for you? Its a pain in the *** trying to get these things fixed.
Did you receive the lappy second hand? Or did you actually just buy it? Your post is sort of confusing. You should be asking for an advanced exchange or immediate repair if they are willing to come to your house. Its BS how many people buy brand new computers from this company and are then willing to make repairs when its ludicrous to think that it should need any given that its BRAND NEW. If they couldn't use a quality screen, how the hell should I assume that they 'cherry picked' all my other parts?
They use different manufacturers for all of the parts that go into your machine, so you should ALWAYS try everything out extensively before you run out of that BS 21 day test drive. -
I really wish they would extend that 21 day warranty to include replacement parts. When my screen started getting dead pixels, they replaced it with another Samsung. The first screen was grainy but tolerable. On the replacement, the colors were more accurate but after getting warmed up the screen was worse than the screen before it. I tried to call them on it and get it replaced but they refused stating screen clarity is not within their criteria for a screen replacement.
On a side note, the conversation was pretty funny. The rep kept trying to argue that it was my fault for not being vigilant and making sure I got a good screen. After shooting down all his arguments a supervisor got involved and 15 minutes later sheepishly admitted defeat. The supervisor (a she) agreed wholeheartedly that I should get a replacement, but Dell's policy would not allow me to get one. Essentially, after the first 21 days of owning the laptop, all replacements were based on functionality problems. For screens, clarity was not one of the criteria. -
on the day b4 the tech came the LCD went blackout and cannot display anymore..... on external monitor can work... tech came and replace the LCD and cant get it work... suspected the mobo are half dead... **** off once more... call up retailer which is FOSA MARKETING and ask for 1to1 exchange... agreed and went for 1to1 exchange .... better screen now but still not the perfect 1.... still samsung....
Is my screen really bad?
