    Is my screen the old one?

    When I go to device manager, it says generic PnP.

    go to control panel -> device manager -> monitor -> double click 'generic pnp monitor' and open the details tab. under properties scroll to hardware id. the actually model number is listed there as MONITOR\xxxxxxx (xxxxxxx being the id). a google search of the id should give you the screen type or post back here and im sure someone will tell you

    It's grainy though. At least it looks sparkly, but I don't even know. It looks sparklyish on white screens.

    those seem to be inherently more grainy then the 900 or 800 res screens... depends how bad it is...

    we may be able to give you a better idea if you post some close up high res screen shots of it with a good camera...

    tried to take some, the grainyness didn't show up on the pics.
