    Is the 640m Pentium M?

    Is the 640m a pentium M or dual core? In dell's site, the list is dual core but the Intel logo beside the list shows a Pentium M Inside sticker. What's the deal?

    The 6400 has the exact list of processor as the 640m but the intel logo beside the list shows an Intel Dual Core inside sticker? Is there really a difference between the 6400 and 640m??

    Its just dell's old picture. They both use the 't2050' core duo processors.

    The 640m should use a Core Duo processor. The previous model, the 630m, came with a Pentium M.

    The 640m is not limited to just the T2050 CPU.

    The 640m ships with the Core Duo. The Pentium M sticker & the same picture on both configurations page is most likely an error. There are difference between the 2...The 640m has a 14" widescreen whereas the 6400 uses a 15" widescreen. So, yes there will be a difference in size and weight between the two laptops. The 6400 is also available with either the GMA950, 1300/X1400 or the Go 7300. The 640m is only available with the GMA950 graphics card.
