If I got a 9300 w/ X300 for about $800 with plans to install either a 6800 Go (cost like $100-$150) or a 7800GTX, would it be a good buy? I think that's about the best you can do for a gaming laptop under $1000.
Also, is there a way to get an E1705 for about $900 with dedicated GPU (X1400 would be fine, upgrade later) and Core Duo?

You should at dell outlet for some e1705, i think you should be able to get it for less than that.
-
Yes.. I agree. The 9300 is a little out dated. For $1150 or less after coupons you can get the E1705 with with the 7800 Go and a Dual core CPU.
-
Wow I didn't realize you could get the E1705 for so cheap. I could get it for $1078 with Core Duo 1.66 Ghz and the 7800 Go with the $450 off coupon. That's looking pretty good...
-
Oh sweet. I got it down to $993 with a 35% off coupon.
