I am going to start college soon during the fall, and I am hoping to find a great laptop. I've always wanted a XPS laptop, but the price is too much. The specs are amazing for the price on the Studio 15. The only thing I'm worried about is the size and how portable it is for college. Is the 15.4 inch screen too big? I heard its also around 6 pounds. As for gaming goes, I will not be playing anything serious, mostly Counter-Strike 1.6 if I do. What do you guys think? Or maybe should I wait a little more and hopefully Dell might come out with more sales for something better?

heres a link to the studio 15, I'm not sure if it will work...

    thanks for the help.

Personally I think it's a fine laptop and that deal is really good. Have you looked at the dv5t though? It may be a bit better for gaming and it starts cheap.

That Studio will have no problems running CS 1.6. Mine ran CS Source maxed with no lag, so the Studio is more than adequet for games around that level. As for weight, its really not that heavy. You'd be fine toting it around all day.

I'd say look into the XPS M1330 for a smaller, lighter, solution. But at this price, you'll be shelling out a lot more for the same config on the XPS.

Dell announced a Inspiron 13 for next week, wait a bit, maybe you find the laptop you really want!
$700 at Walmart sounds promising, doesn't it?
