Is the Studio 1557 available with a 900p screen in the UK?

As per the thread title does anyone know if the Studio 1557 is available with a 900p screen in the UK? It's not listed on the site as an option but I wondered if anyone had asked them as it seems to be available to people ordering in the US.

I think I'll find the 720p screen too low res but I'm concerned that the 1080p will be too high for a 15 inch screen hence the query.

Has anyone bought the 1080p and found text and applications too small with it?

I find 1600x900 to be a sweet spot on a 15.6" notebook. Unfortunately they are no longer available on the Studio 15. You can always phone your order in and ask them about it - they often have options available that are not on their website.

Thanks for the reply and that is my kind of thinking too. I'll try and give them a buzz tomorrow to find out for sure but it's nice to know it may be possible.

Just to finish off this topic according to Dell CS it isn't and they're not aware of it coming soon with a 900p screen.

That is a shame; they did used to sell the 1555 with a 900p display option; but shortly before the release of the 1557, they stopped selling this option.

One can hope that it comes back into service, but there may have been a reason they did not; perhaps the uptake of the item was not very high.

It is a shame and it may well just be a commercial reason of not enough people wanting it.

The fact it is offered in the US on the 1557 made me think it maybe offered over here too but alas not.
