i am very tempted to buy a vostro 1400/1500 instead of a HP2535 due to the superior processor and graphics card for the same money. one thing that concerns me is the sound card.
i won't be playing loads of games, maybe the odd one, but will be using it to listen to all my music and watch dvds. it says it only comes with "Two channel high definition audio codec; Two stereo 2 watt internal speakers with HD Audio 2.0 software standard".
assuming i plug an ok 2.1 speaker system into this, will it sound good enough for music and films at reasonable volume?![]()

yes it will. the sound is pretty decent. you can unlock the chip to the audigy HD on the dell.

Don't bother with Creative's software stuff. I'm assuming your "ok" 2.1 system uses an external power source.

thanks
now i just gotta get over it's looks and buy one. -
it has to for the sub...

i haven't bought it yet, but it's just gonna be something simple like http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/st...m=null&tm=null&sku=425226&category_oid=-29775 -
yeah those speakers will be fine
Is the Vostro soundcard any good?
