I was looking at the Dell XPS M170 for 2,000.00

I am confused. Some people say it is horrible, and others say it is the best thing. I want to play World of Warcraft and a an extremely smooth frame rate and no skipping. What specs am I looking for?

Processor Chip: 2.0 Ghz, 2.13 Ghz, or 2.26 Ghz? I want to play the game, but I also do not want to spend a fortune to do it.

Memory: 1 GB, or 2 GB. Would the 1 be fine or I would have to get 2? I also want to get a computer for listening to MP3's and put Pictures on. But I don't want to overspend. What would be acceptable?

    Hard Drive: 60 GB 7200 RPM, 80 GB 7200 RPM, 100 GB 7200 RPM, or 120 GB 5400 RPM?

Intel Centrion Mobel Wireless? I guess this is for the wireless internet?: Intel Pro Wireless 2200, Intel Pro Wireless 2915, Blue tooth Intel Pro 2915 with Blue Tooth Technology, or Intel Pro 2200 with Blue Tooth Technology?

Would I need a wireless router? Keep in mind, I have bellsouth internet, so I guess I can just plug it into a port on a laptop if I get one. DO I need the Inten Centrion Moble Wirelss? and the Router? If so, which Router should I get?

Video Card: Nvidia GeForce Go 6800 Ultra or the Nvidia GeForce Go 7800 GTX?

Sound Card: Should I get one or get the one which comes with it?

Battery: Should I get an additional 9 Cell Lithium Ion Battery? Or just get the one that comes with it? Can I just plug the laptop into a wall and not use batteries?

Should I get a notebook Expansion Dock? Or do I really not need that?

DO I have to buy a mouse? Or do laptops come with one? Should I get Headphones? Or just live with the volume button?

Final Question: Is the Dell XPS M170 Laptop that good? I want to put quite a bit of photos, but some mp3's. About 100 or so, and be able to play World of Warcraft online. I also want to have World of Warcraft installed along with Zoo Tycoon 2 and Zoo Tycoon Expansion Pack.

Let me know how good or bad the Dell XPS M170 notebook is, and what specs would I need in each category for a good world of warcraft experience, please!!!!!

Thanks for all of the help, I know it is a lot, but I need opinions.

When gaming, the CPU doesn't do all than much so get the 2.0Ghz.

If you are trying to save money, I'd get the 1GB. You can always upgrade later as funds become available.

Doesn't sound like you need a lot of space. I'd go with the 60GB 7200 as it will offer desktop like performance.

I would get the bluetooth card only if you have have a bluetooth phone, mouse or printer you plan on using it with. Otherwise I ould get the 2200bg. Yes you will need a wireless router to use it wirelessly, but you can use the ethernet port if it is going to be on your desk all the time. I would buy a router on price as most will work. I personally have had good experiences with NetGear.

The 6800 is a very fast card and more than enough for the games you listed. You can upgrade later, but it will be more expensive.

I think it has stereo sound. Unless you are planning on hooking up a 5.1 speaker system there is no need for a better sound card.

Unless you need a lot of battery life I would not get the extra battery. You can probably get it on eBay cheaper.

I would get the dock only if you need the extra ports or are planning on hooking up a bigger monitor.

The XPS has pretty good speakers, but it is a laptop. A good pair of headphones will sound better. Good Luck.
