    The ratio means the screen width : screen height. You can see that it is 16:10 because take any wide screen resolution like WXGA+ for example, 1680x1050 means the width x height in pixes. Therefore the ratio is 1680 : 1050 = 16 : 10 (do the math and see) ;)
