I have recently received my new D430, I found that there is no way I could set the charge settings (when I plug in the AC adaptor, it automatically charge up to 100%). As I wouldn't be using my laptop on battery for a long period, I wonder if there is any method that I can cycle the battery at a lower capacity rather than at high percentages.
Also, I have 2GB of RAM in my D430, is it possible to have the memory run in dual channel (it comes with single channel as default and I can't change it).
Thanks!![]()

Why would you want to cycle at a lower capacity?
I dont know if D430 run in DDR2. It would be nice.
I got my refurbished D430 last week. How much did you pay for yours new?
You might want to put D430 in the title so you can get more feedback from D430 owners. -

not really, without some 3rd party utility to handle that, but I don't know of any that do. I'd be impressed if there were one that could do it, and do it well.
still don't know if it's recommended from a battery life perspective. doesn't necessarily sound like it would contribute to the lifetime of the battery and I'm sure it would void any warranty from the manufacturer's perspective anyway (though I can't think of how they'd know how you treated it). -

i don't know a way.. but, if you can use the laptop in battery and discharge to 30% more or less, at least once a week, it may be okey for battery lasting purposes
Is there any way to configure charge settings?
