Like a ton of people I recieved my laptop from Dell so I formatted and went to reinstall windows with a downloaded copy of Win XP MCE that I had, but when I enter the CD Key Dell attached to the laptop it is telling me the CD key is invalid. I'm guessing I need a certain Dell version of WinXP MCE to reinstall it..... So is there anywhere I can simply download this XP to so I can burn it??

Thanks in advance for any help! I really need to get this laptop formatted! :)

As stated a bunch of times: no. You must contact Dell and request the OS installation disk.

I also wouldn't go around talking about a "downloaded copy of Win XP MCE" you have.

From what I understand there's nothing wrong with having a copy of a CD like this around if you are using a legit CD key. ^_^

I did just that an hour ago. After being bounced around 3 different dell reps I hung up and called back and talked to somebody that was ACTUALLY helpful. She is having the CD sent to me next day air at no cost. About time I got off the phone with somebody who worked at Dell and was actually pleased.

    Thanks for the responses! :)

You should be pleased, those of us who planned ahead actually had to pay 10 dollars for the CD that you just got for free.

I planned ahead to order it without the CD cause I knew that I could get it for free with one e-mail after.
