    Just got my M1330:

    2.2GHz/800Mhz/T7500/Intel Core 2 Duo
    3GB memory
    160GBHD/7200rpm
    windows ultimate
13.3 screen WXGA TL CCFL Backlit LCD

Intel integrated Graphics Media Accel 3000

dear friends say i messed up w/this graphics card.

what do u think? I'm not a gamer, but have to admit i'm curious--is this laptop set up at all for any level of gaming.

also, there's nothing i can do since i can't upgrade the
    graphics card.

    any thoughts are really welcome.

    sad slower gamer, mt9

The M1330 has never been 'for gaming'. The other GPU would have been the wiser choice in the longer term for its video processing abilities but all in all, neither are going to satisfy the avid gamer.

You can play most older games on low low settings. You can play half life 2 etc, but nothing new like cod4, crysis, etc.

You should have gotten the 8400M GS, even though that is also an entry level card, it can handle most new games at medium/low settings.

Maybe, but why spend forty dollars on a state of the art game when you're only going to get a ten dollar experience at best?

Besides, emulating a SNES on a notebook the size of a matchbox in a Starbucks is a far more rewarding experience than playing Crysis like a slideshow. :)

Should definitely have gone with the 8400M GS.... the integrated graphics will struggle with 90% of games...

The 8400M GS can handle most current games (not at max conditions though)

Is it necessary to get the 8400M GS if I won't play any game at all on it?

    Not necessary. X3100 is fine.

That really depends. In the future you might play games, so you'll never know.
Also, I'm not really sure but certain softwares like AutoCAD require good graphic cards.

You can always return the unit you got within 30 days and re-purchase with the dedicated graphics.

My first real laptop was an HP DV2422 and had integrated Nvidia 6150 graphics and could play older games okay, but I longed for better performance and ability to play later titles, so when the M1330 went on sale, I bought it with the 8400M GS, and sold the HP.

You're in a better position as you can return your current unit without losing money.

I run Unreal Tournament III @ 1280 x 800 native resolution, medium settings. There are other new games besides Crysis!

xps m1330 was never meant for gaming as mentioned above, that 8400m gs card is useless to play any latest games.
