    Wondering if this is a good deal or not as I am looking at picking up a new notebook.

    It's a good deal IMHO.

    $1470 CAD = $1327 USD

    The same specs price to $1538 before tax/shipping on the Dell USA site, so it's about a 14% saving off retail

    Not bad, seeing as you get the P8600, Blu-Ray, 1080p, 512MB ATi graphics, 3 years of Complete Care, and backlit keyboard. All the nice stuff, in other words. ;)
