alright i think i've finally got it configured like i want for a decent price. i went ahead and got the 3yr warranty/3 yr complete care for peace of mind. i also got two batteries, seemed more cost-effective that way. does anyone think this is a good deal?

y not use the $ that u spent getting 3 yr warranty and extra battery for a better cpu lik Core Duo T2500? lol

just my opinion. batteries usually die out while the cpu stays alive longer

i'm not going to be doing any hardcore gaming on this laptop, and the T2500 is a $120 upgrade over the T2400. the extra battery will only cost me $23 more.

That, and if the laptop goes belly up within three years they'll fix it. I wish I had gotten the longer warranty on my HP Compaq, because I'd still be using it now.

alright i pulled the trigger. the price was just too good for all the specifications that i needed and with the rumor that coupons are ending soon i couldn't take the chance that i'd find it for a similar price before school starts. i'm pretty stoked about it-should be a nice system!

oh one more thing-i mistakenly (after having read another thread here) upgraded the sound to the sound blaster audigy software crap for another $20. is there any way to amend my order and get that removed before it ships or am i stuck? not a huge deal either way, but i'd like to get it removed if possible.

Contact Dell and see if they can change your order - it's only software.

ok here's the deal-i just got off the phone with dell customer service and asked to have my sound downgraded back to the standard integrated audio. she then started getting very aggressive with me when i told her that it was only software and said that it was not software, and that i would be getting a different and weaker soundcard. she also told me that changing the order could cause a 3-10 day delay in shipping time!

i don't want to jeopardize how long my order takes to get here or the quality of the soundcard. is it true that the sound blaster upgrade is only software? (was she wrong?) also, will my shipping be delayed that long if i ask them to change it? what's my play here? thanks for any advice!
