I am getting the 1680x1050 screen resolution as a free upgrade and $150 off. I still think its rather expensive...had to keep the 2.2Ghz CPU I was gonna go 2.4GHz but it adds $300

Because you get better savings...totally not fair for us Canadians! argh!
How is the laptop anyway dvmxps1530? I am using it to replace my desktop and for university, etc

Hopefully, I will call my sales rep and try to convince him to match the US prices. He was very reluctant to match the US prices. Any idea of what I should do?

    Hanif,

How did you get this option?

320-6288 15.4 inch Wide Screen WSXGA+ TrueLife for XPS M1530

As it's not yet an option in Dell Canada?

    And $150 off?

I am trying to get my M1530 and the only thing holding me off is the screen res.

    Thanks!

Final price: $1870 including taxes. Just spoke to my sales REP and he said this is the best deal he can give me. I might go for the t7250 as sly97531 pointed out. Also, should I go black or red for the laptop finish? I am opting for black so it matches my home threatre setup.

Go for the colour you like. I went for black myself for the fact it will match more of my stuff.

Personally I would suggest looking for a reseller in the states. You could get that system for much cheaper. I ran the system through dell.com and the price came to $1399 US which would be just a tad more than what the price would be in Canadian. I took a look on eBay and noticed a couple resellers with prices around $1600.

From what I understand the warranties are easy to transfer over.
