That's not too bad with that sort of warranty. I think you will also be very happy with the LED screen, I really like mine/

Thanks for your help and insight. Two more questions if you dont mind:

Do you think the warranty is over kill? its like $450 out if the $1550 plus tax $150. the cpu is like close $900.

Also is this laptop middle of the road or higher end?

    thank you!

Four years is a lot, but it depends on how long you want to keep it. Plus, if you decide to sell it you are more likely to find willing customers if they see they are still covered under warranty. But is that worth almost a third of the price?

    YES!
I was surprised on first look too, but Yea 1440x900 with LED is better than 1280x768 with LED!
So YES FOR ME 100% WORTH!

Heres a tip, their telling you to get an LED screen, good advice. So drop the warranty down a bit to recoup some money and buy the LED screen. When you have enough money at a later date extend the warranty. Infact if you extend it later you might be able to haggle the price with them.

Sillyrabbit, congrats on the new Studio 1537. ;)

My studio is on order and almost a clone of your specs except no 64-bit Vista and I added a Blu-ray drive.

Now that you have the new laptop, would you change your specs to add or delete any features?

My detailed order specs are listed here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=334198
