I'm looking for the best deal I can get, it doesn't have to be the cheapest, just the most bang for buck possible. I'm also flexible on the components as I don't need the most out of it.

yup looks pretty good...

do you think I could have done any better?
how did you get your config in your sig? -
ever consider the Vostro 1400?
http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=us&cs=04&kc=6W300&l=en&oc=bqdwj2j&s=bsd
you might consider downgrading the wifi card to the cheapest they have unless
1) you have an exceedingly fast internet connection( well over 20mbit/sec)
2) you plan to share massive amount of data through the wifi in a network -
I think that was the only wifi option under that particular deal
-
i believe his config was a vostro 1400, configure a vostro 1400 and you should the same price but why 3 year warranty seems very excessive.
-
I chose the 3yr warranty as well... why? because dell's warranty program is awesome!! I'm planning on toting my laptop to every class with me, this leaves room for damage. If the laptop needs to last for up to three years then you don't have to be overly concerned about the general wear and tear of your computer. I think having the 3 year warranty is incredibly convenient and efficient.
-
yeah the warranty is a must but not only that, I got a double discount with a 3 year warranty so it was almost the same price without it
anyway, is there a way to get any freebies with this order? a remote? I saw no remote option -
ah i see i guess we are different computer users. most of the time I tend to buy a computer with the least warranty use it for 2 years then sell it for about 60-70% of the original price and buy a new computer with 1 year warranty. This way i spend very little money and always manage to have a half decent machine.

a vostro 1400(an all black 1420 with some additional durability features) with T7500, 160GB HD, 8400M GS, 2GB(self upgrade), wifi N, bluetooth, 9 cell bat 1 year warranty is 1083+tax -
ahh yes, we are different computer consumers/users.... but you have a good system working for you too
-
lol suppose i'm just more confident in dell's build quality and my own ability to fix all but complete hardware failures.
Is this a great deal on a 1420?
