Is this a problem or Vista feature? Random sounds from Vostro.

I received my new Vostro 1400 yesterday. So far I'm loving it, but there is one thing that is weird. I don't know if this is a Vista thing (this is my first experience with Vista) or something with the laptop. I thought I would post here to see if anyone else is having a similar experience.

What happens is sometimes when I'm browsing the web, I get two soft "bong" sounds from the laptop and the blue LED next to the webcam blinks. I've tried to recreate it, but it seems to do it at random.

Anyone know what would be causing this?

Theres a new feature in Vista that cuases the hard drive and CPU to be more active during the first week. Its called "Superfetch" i think it it basically happens to learn all the Cpu settings. Dont worry it should end within 1 week or 2.

Please disregard the two pointless replies posted above, it has something to do with your Webcam. It's either not plugged in all the way, or are having driver problems with it or something like that. I'd recommend contacting Technical Support :)

Thanks Double. After some poking around the sound is the hardware connect/disconnect noise. I just didn't recognize it since it is different on Vista.

I noticed that there was a updated driver for the webcam listed in Windows Update. Guess I could try that.
