I really want to buy a Dell XPS 1530 but I'm kind of waiting for a good sale or coupon to show up. However, I think today there is good instant savings. Please check out my configuration and tell me if it is good or if I'm missing something important. Also, I need to know if this is a good discount or if its better to keep waiting for a coupon?

    Thank you!

I'm no expert but I think you should definitely think about going higher on the screen resolution. Especially since you are getting the 8600 so I think you'll want to do some gaming with it.

don't get a higher resolution screen. the 8600m gt can't handle games higher than wxga with decent settings ;) just get the least amount of ram and upgrade it later.

I wouldnt listen to boypogi. Yes the 8600 cant play Crysis on screens native resolutions, but it can play many DX9 games on their native resolutions. The LED screen would be a great improvement for you. Oblivion, NFS:MW, Doom3, those types of games are going to run on maximum settings on 1440x900

Also, if you go full the full HD screen yes you cant game in that resolution and it wont be as bright but you can play 1080p in full HD that you download off the internet, as some games (World of Warcraft for me) will play on that Resolution.

Yeah you won't be maxing settings or anything at higher resolutions but if you are into that business than the m1530 isn't for you. I can tell from your other thread that your tight on money to put into the laptop. I ordered mine earlier this week and had to be very careful with money too. I think you should get the 8300 over the 7250 for sure. I the upgrade isn't that expensive and will be worth it for the money.
