    hi

my m1330 is my first notebook, and I use photoshop frequently. but, for somehow, photoshop runs extremely slowww.

in high performance mode, I opened a 6.24 mb psd file, it dosn't take very long to open, but whatever I do takes a loong time. (maximize, enable disable layers etc)

for example, enable/disable a layer takes about 3 - 4 sec. my old computer has Pentium 4 / 1GB ram/ intel integrate graphic card enable/disable layer take only 0.001 sec :S

when I´m trying to enable/disable a layer I can hear hard disk and CPU working.. but it just take too long doing anything

is this normal? or somethng wrong with video driver? (games work fine)

    m1330 t7300 2.0ghz, 2gb ram, 8400gs

Are you plugged in to AC??? Maybe your CPU is at the lowest multiplier. Or maybe something else is using up your CPU? More info please :)

I use photoshop cs2 all the time and work with some pretty big files and my laptop handles them no problem and your processor has 2mb more L2 cache than mine. I'm working on a 64.7mb TIFF file as we speak and there's no slowness at all.

Has it just started to happen or from the first time you installed PS? Have you tried re-installing photoshop?

You should try a fresh install of Windows. That usually solves MANY problems such as this.

What version of Photoshop are you using? It may not play well with Windows Vista out of the box. Perhaps updating the application and or Windows will rectify the sluggish operating behaviour between the two.

May be it's because of intel GPU?

    Does photoshop require GPU alot?

It's more likely settings of Photoshop, go into Preferences and see- also make sure you let PS allocate a good percentage of the RAM for better performance, and check your Scratch Disk settings so that you have your C: drive included along with the listed "Startup". If all else fails- reinstall photoshop and it see if that resolved it. ;)

CS3 runs slightly sluggishly on my 1520, even though I believe I have pretty good specs. I played around with the preferences and it seems to have gotten a bit better. It certainly seems slower than CS2, maybe it has something to do with that, or maybe it has to do with Vista. It's not bad for me, it's just not as speedy as I would have expected.

edit: this is on AC power and high performance and no bloatware or the like

Sorry, I'm using CS3, I change the ram setting to using 1.2 gb, and it still the same. and I just install my vista few days ago

I tested with AC on/ high performance
