My Core Duo 2.0G is running at 997.6mhz on both core 1 and core 2 according to CPU-Z. Is this the design or a defect?

    Hi,

When idle your CPU throttles down to preserve power. All is fine.

    That is running at full-speed. Dual-core...997.6Mhz x 2 = ~2.0Ghz. So that is right. :p

Boy you make it sound like its not supposed to go past that lol... like 2 GHZ means 2 seperate 1 GHZ cores to = 2 GHZ

Unless I am mistaken? I mean I would think that each core has the ability to run at 2 GHZ each. Unless I am mistaken in what I am learning about Duo Cores lol.

Sorry...you are correct. It is running at half what it could be. Due to speedstepping most likely. :) Good catch. :p

Too many posts...brain is frying. :)
