if its a 1280x800 its most likely a samsung screen.... :(
most people would go for 1400x900 for the LG

I got XR878. Most likely you will get LG, it may be Samsung but its really LG. You will have to check it when you receive it.

I got that XR878. I thought it would be Samsung as it was on the packing slip. I checked on this laptop which it said LPL0301 which is LG screen. I got lucky.

You may be lucky or not.

    1. Why would you assume that to be a brand number? Could it not be, say a designation for "Monitor" or for "WXGA"? When you see a bunch of random numbers and letters spray painted on the street, do you automatically assume that it's the name of the road you're on?

    2. It's been stated to death, it doesn't matter. You don't know if the screen is good or not, and even if you did, you can't do anything about it until you receive the computer anyway.

My friend just got Dell Inspiron 1525 with WXGA. It is Samsung screen, and I compare side by side with my XPS. I could not tell the different between two screens. By the way, I have LG screen.

Actually, I think Samsung on my friend displays white a little better than my LG. I mean white color is whiter on her screen than mine.

well if you call dell parts NU763 is the part number for the lg screen.

also i work part time in a retail store since i am in grade 11 and that is my part time job. and eveything we sell has letters at the start that designate a brand followed by numbers that tell what part by the designated brand that it is. also most companies that i know of follow this pattern whether it is related to the stuff we sell or not.

I though if NU763 was lg maybe XR878 was another brand. I will call dell parts maybe and check it out. then we'll all know.

where can i find the number for dell parts?
