This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Is this spec worth the money?

    I just got quoted this spec for £511 (VAT and delivery included):

    Intel Core 2 Duo T5470 Processor (1.6GHz,800MHz,2MB L2 cache)
    2GB RAM
    Intel X3100 graphics card
    80GB Hard Drive
    Truelife screen
    9 cell battery

    Is this a good deal?

    If not can you post up your spec and price from the UK.

    Now granted I'm not in the UK or anything, but based on US prices and what I know about VAT being so high that does round very reasonable. The only thing I can think of, is going for the DOWNGRADED processor - the $50 (USD) isn't worth it, and the difference will be hardly noticeable...and if you are worried about price, that's somewhere you can cut it down a little bit without too much of a downgrade.

    I can downgrade the processor any lower, and i've already downgraded the hard drive from 120gb to 80gb.

    Anyone from UK brought a Vostro 1400?
