I just finish the build on Dell and wanted you guys opinion. Is this a suitalble build for you basic use (internet, dvd, download, school/office work). I bought a Sony NR recently during Black Friday and I'm going to return it today since it had a VERY cheap feel to it and was able to configure something better on dell for the same price. Anyway, just let me know what you guys think of the build.

More than enough. Do make sure you get your RAM ASAP since Vista isn't all that responsive with just 1GB of system memory. Get 2GB for your needs.

Have you looked at the Inspiron 1420/Vostro 1400? A 14in notebook will be more portable/mobile then a 15in .

If you don't game at all, you won't even need a dedicated GPU. That might save you some money there too.
-
save your money on the GPU get the X3100. or even consider the 1521, they are cheaper, if you get the AMD Athlon X2 1.8ghz 2gb ram, and the ATI X1270
as an example of price in canada I configured an intel(7250), with 2gb ram and an X3100 and I got 999$.
with everything else the same screen etc. I configured an 1521 with a 1.8ghz X2 2gb, X1270 ATI, I got a total of 699$.
for what you are doing, the machine you configured, is over kill, and really so is the amd to.
Edit:
just built on us website
1521 1.9X2, 2gb, 120,x1270.1280x800 = 850
1520 2.0(t7250, 2gb, 120gb,intelx3100, 1280x800 = 1019
compair and see what you like, all I am saying is you could say quite a bit of money going with an amd system. note the amd system IS slower of course but for internet and light stuff like that, it is more than you need. -
If you don't plan on gaming at all, and you want it for protability/carrying around with you, I would strongly recommend the 1420. You can get the same specs in a smaller laptop for around the same price.
Most people buy the 1520 because it can come with a 256mb dedicated graphics card. But seeing as you've customized your 1520 with just the 128mb, the Inspiron 1420 should suit you fine.
Other than that, it looks good.
Is this suitable build for 1520
