    Isn't that strange?

I just got my e1505 shipped today but there is something really strange. The tracking information shows that the weight of the package is 4.00 Lbs. How can that be possible since the starting weight for e1505 is 6.18 lbs, not to mention that I ordered an extra 9 cell batery. Does anybody know if that is something normal and UPS are not always accurate when it is about weight?

I think it's safe to say that Dell is usually inaccurate with the shipping weights, but in your case it IS strange b/c from past experience, Dell usually overestimates the shipping weight. The actual weight is usually about 9-13 lbs., but most of the time tracking shows 19 lbs.

I've never read about Dell under-estimating the weight though. Maybe someone else can comment.

    Edited: Typo

Well I do not know what is going on but even the m1210 is heavier than my package (4.37 lbs). So if they aren't sending me a notebook, what is in the box. o_O

All the weight issue is for the FAA and transit costs. I am sure that Dell has contracts with carriers FedEX, UPS, etc so its not that it makes that much of a difference. But all flights must register thier weight with the FAA. It is also used to calculate how much fuel will be needed, travel time, and so on.

Don't worry about it, my E1405 package showed up as 18 lbs on the UPS tracking thing.

Well i wouldn't be worried if it was 18 lbs but 4 lbs box is very strange. I was thinking to call dell and check what is up but I guess ill just wait for the box to arrive. Maybe it is just a mistake on the ups site *hopes*.

So I guess I am the only one who has his package lighter than what it is supposed to be. I hope that it is just a glitch in the ups system, because at dell's site everything looks fine (although they don't show the pack's weight there)

By the way has anybody heard of customers recieving wrong products from dell, because 4 lbs looks to me like I am getting only the 9 cell battery without a notebook I can use it on , lol!
