    All,

Well, my first e1505 is going back to dell due to a bad screen, but it made me think about an issue with dells return policy.

Dell allows returns for 21 days from the original purchase date.

I purchased my e1505 on 3/21 and it arrived today... 13 days later.

Ive not been told that i will receive my replacement 7 to 10 days from now, and that the return policy is from the original purchase date.

So, if it takes 10 days to delivery my replacement, and the replacement still has issues, i'll be at 23 days from original purchase date and unable to return the unit... and once im not able to return it any longer, i can imagine their motiviation to resolve my problems will be less as well.

Anyone encountered this? I like the laptop for the most part... it has some disadvantages but nothing I didnt expect... but the idea of getting locked out of possibly returning the unit due to their policy and lack of Quality control is disturbing.

You might check with the dell return department on that. Supposedly, its not 21 days from the orginial purchase date, but 21 days either from invoice date or shipment date. If they based it on your orginial purchase date, then several people would be going over their 21 day limit on returns.

Thats what I would think too... but apparently they have different ideas in India.

Correct. I have authorized returns (as a sales rep is small business) according to the invoice date. However, I would still check as things may be different - I haven't worked for Dell since October 2005.
