This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Issues installing Windows XP on a 1737?

    A person I know is having issues installing Windows XP on a Studio 17 (1737).
    I didn't think it would be a big deal, but here's his email:

    "i was going to try to install xp on this machine dell studio 1737 i didnt realize this machine is so complicated to install xp because of the driver it is hard to find. but there is a way to do it, and i might need more time to do it. also i have installed a lot of dell laptop dual core and i have never had a problem putting xp on it but this one is exclusive for vista only normally you have a choice of vista or xp on the dell websites, but i will try to find some help on my friends."

    Anyone have any suggestions?
