It shipped!!!

Sweet! After being ordered on 08/02/07, my nice shiny new Dell 1721 has shipped... now, let's see whether or not I can book the day off work to be at home when it's going to be delivered (Estimated Delivery Date 08/20/07)... Has anyone else gotten a 1721 yet???

Do you remember of the timeline of production? Like how long build stage took and such

Woohoo mine shipped as well! Vostro 1500, ordered on 8/04, went into Production within about 2 days, and says that it was shipped 8/09. Only hangup was that when I first checked the status, the delivery was set to 8/20 and changed a couple of days later to 8/21.

No worries though, at this rate it'll hopefully be here even earlier than that.

Incidentally, my order also includes the WXGA+ screen, which was said to have a delay of 2 days when I ordered.

 

I ordered my Inspiron 1520 on August 1, 2007. It's still in production and it's estimated to be delivered on August 20, 2007. Any chance that'll happen?

 

According to the Canadian site, which isn't that detailed, it went into production on 08/03/07 and I guess it took seven calendar days to be built. Can't wait to get it. I'm sure this means that Dell is getting back on track...or they have a surplus of the parts I need for my laptop lol

Mine is was shipped yesterday too, and im also in canada
but the purolator tracking number gives me NO information at all, and i did all what they said to find out the status but i can't see to get it?

 

If you go to dell.ca/status and enter your order number and postal code, it'll bring up your order status, then it should have a link towards the lower end of the page, which will, when clicked, direct you to the Purolator website which will automatically give you tracking information. As of today, my order is currently "In transit in the United States".

 

I did that, but it says there is no information yet. maybe i will just check it again tomorrow

 

You do have to wait at least 24 hours...

EDIT: Oh, and Purolator doesn't do anything, really, on Sundays.

i'm guessing wednesday or thursday

lets say it leaves dell on monday, gets up here in a day. tuesday it'll ship to your local purator. deliver on wednesday? thats what i'm assuming

 

I can only hope with overwhelming anticipation and glee that you're correct. Still no update on the tracking number with Purolator though

 

Perhaps - mine shipped out last Thursday morning and even now, Purolator says it's still in transit in the US, although that hasn't been updated since last Friday... Since it hasn't even shown it's crossed into Canada after two business days, the weekend and all of today (Monday) I'm not terribly hopeful that'll it'll come today or tomorrow.

2-3 days may be a little optimistic.

 

When I checked the status on Thursday, it said it's in transit in the US. When I checked today it says it's already in Calgary. I'm in vancouver so I should get it sometime this week.

 

So does this mean that the notebooks are out of back-order? Should everyone be getting theirs soon?

My bet is that Dell is getting their parts in and are getting more and more shipped out and I would bet that within a week or so everyone that has been waiting will have theirs built and at least in testing or boxing stage.

 

See, that's the thing. In Canada, you can't tell which specific stage of production your order is in. Mine can be in kitting for all I know.

Mine is still in production. I just hope it will ship soon. My estimated delivery date is Aug 20.

 

dont get too excited when ur machine ships cos u have to deal with the "PUROLATOR"lol

 

basically once dell's done with it it'll take "The Purolator" 3-7 days to deliver. depend on weekends, holidays, and how often purolator picks up from dell + the 2-4 days it'll take to come to canada and deliver to you

i'm hoping mine will be delivered on wednesday or thursday =) still "in transit in US" though but i'm hopeful
