interesting. dell's policies are not even consistent. i mean out there they in the us they aren't offering the remote for free but they are providing u with the T7xxx at an affordable price along with two gigs of ram. in india its the other way round. free remote( it says Dell Travel Remote) but the upgrade to a two gig ram and/or to a T7xxx is out of bounds for a student like me..... i guess its like u win some, u lose some!!

 

that's what i used. i looked, but I couldn't find any other way to get it any cheaper, and that is one sexy price for the components that we chose (looks like you got the same stuff as me). I'd go ahead and order it.

 

wow price went up, I got the better proc, home premium, but less ram, and hdd for less money. I upgraded mem on my own and have plans for a bigger, faster HDD by years end.

Nice lappy. i was gonna go with the yellow but i when i saw it in person i changed my mind.

 

to each their own, I am quite happy with my yellow laptop. It looks much better on the laptop then the casings they have displayed, the whole silver/yellow combi looks great.

 

Im waitin to see a decent review of the 1720/1721, theyres only two around I know of from cnet and some other computer site that does really generic reviews

 

I'd like to see a review of the 1521 or 1721 with the Turion processor, and a comparison with the 1520 or 1720.

 

Excellent review - love the pics, although it makes me even more impatient for mine (but reduces my urge to cancel!).

 

thanks, I posted this a while back when I first got it, glad to see a renewed interest in it. This laptop is worth the wait, I am even getting rid of my desktop because I like it so much.

 

I am also thinking of getting rid of my desktop as I have no use for it after getting my 1520! DAMN I LOVE THIS MACHINE!

 

Nice review, glad I read it. I didn't realize before the 1520 had an SD card slot! I'll have to check which kind of card my camera uses!

Hey all. Awesome laptop Liquidx and great review too. Im actually waiting for my 1721 a friend ordered for me in US (im from the Dominican Republic). Anyways, my question is about the remote and im sorry i have to bring this up again but i read the whole post and i didnt understand. Is it supposed to be FREE with the laptop? Or whats the deal ? I didn't see anything about free remote when i was ordering mine. Thanks.

hey liquid, how much do you love the expresscard remote, or did you ever get one. wow. man, i tell you, when i use the dell mediadirect via the OS being booted, there is nothing like kicking back and playing avi movies with the mini remote. *grin

nice review man. I was scared to get yellow(eventho its my favorite color) cause it might look a little feminine or fruity. But that is definitely a masculine yellow. And it has a goldish type look as well.

I have caught a little flak from family members, but I am a full time college student and have never heard any cracks from friends or fellow students. It wasn't my fav color, but they didn't have orange But I have my yellow laptop now and am fairly happy with it.
